STAR TIDE is one of the works I feel most deeply connected to, perhaps because the sea has always been one of my greatest loves. There is something about water that has always made me feel free, alive and completely present. But this painting carries another secret that makes it even more important to me.

Many people think THE FIRST TRACE was the first work I ever created, but it wasn’t. STAR TIDE came before it. It began simply as an experiment, almost a test, without expectations and without any idea of what it would become. I was only trying to understand what could happen if I trusted instinct and allowed the process to lead me.

Then something changed. While I was creating it, I felt my heart react in a way I had not expected. It stopped feeling like a test and started feeling like the beginning of something much larger. That emotion was very close to the feeling of a first love: unexpected, intense, impossible to ignore, and capable of changing the way you see everything that comes after.

That is why STAR TIDE will always remain one of the most important works in my story. It was the first moment in which I understood that this could become more than an experiment. It could become part of who I am. Like the sea, it arrived with movement, instinct and uncertainty, and somehow it taught me that sometimes the things we create without expectations are the ones that end up changing us the most.
